Last updated: 13 September 2026
By using Echo Deutsch (the “site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this site is
Echo Deutsch is a free, browser-based practice companion for studying German with Deutsche Welle’s Nicos Weg videos on YouTube. It is intended for personal language study. It is not a school, not a certified course, and not a substitute for professional advice.
Not affiliated with Deutsche Welle
Echo Deutsch is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Deutsche Welle (DW) or the Nicos Weg team. DW trademarks and content remain theirs. We embed publicly available YouTube videos; we do not claim ownership of those videos or of the Nicos Weg curriculum.
YouTube and third-party services
Video playback uses YouTube embeds. When you play a video, YouTube’s Terms of Service and Google’s related policies apply to that experience. Echo Deutsch does not control YouTube’s player, recommendations, or account systems.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for your own learning.
- Do not attempt to scrape, abuse, or overload the site or its hosting.
- Do not misuse the tool to infringe others’ rights or break applicable law.
No accounts; local data
The site does not require an account. Settings and bookmarks may be stored in your browser (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your own device and browser data.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind — including accuracy of captions, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Captions are study aids and may contain errors or gaps. Language learning results vary; we do not promise a specific outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Echo Deutsch and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer protection law in your country (including EU member states).
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
