Episode summary

Panic returns when Nico realizes his bag may be in a taxi that is already leaving. Voices shout Stopp! and ask Sag mal, spinnst du? as Emma tries to explain Die Tasche! At the next car they meet Lisa Brunner, who introduces herself and presents Nico: Hallo, ich bin Lisa Brunner. Das ist Nico. Nico sucht seine Tasche. They ask a driver whether Nicos Tasche is inside; the answer is a clear Nein—the bag is not in that taxi. Nobody knows where it is (Keine Ahnung), so the plan becomes action: Komm, wir suchen die Tasche! This episode recycles introductions with das ist …, drills the noun Tasche with possessives, and teaches the useful admission keine Ahnung plus the verb suchen.

Grammar & usage focus

Introducing others with Das ist …

After you introduce yourself with Ich bin …, you present another person with Das ist + name. Possessives attach to the thing you are talking about: seine Tasche (his bag). Yes/no questions about location often use ist … in …?: Ist die Tasche im Taxi?. A natural short negative is simply Nein, followed by a full clause if you want to be clear: Die Tasche ist nicht im Taxi.

Examples

  • Hallo, ich bin Laura. Das ist mein Bruder Tim.
  • Ist deine Tasche im Auto? — Nein, die Tasche ist nicht im Auto.

Tips for shadowing this episode

Practice the two-line intro: Ich bin … / Das ist …. When you deny a location, finish the thought—Die Tasche ist nicht im Taxi—instead of stopping at Nein. Add keine Ahnung to sound natural when you truly do not know, then follow it with a plan verb like suchen.
