Episode summary
A warm host welcomes visitors inside and is surprised how little luggage Nico brought for his short stay. Lisa thanks the host again, then rushes off—she is leaving on holiday the same day—with quick goodbyes of Tschüss and Wiedersehen. Alone with Nico, the host offers a drink: apple juice or Apfelsaftschorle. Nico has never heard of Schorle and learns it is juice mixed with sparkling water, then orders one. Food talk follows. There is meat, fish, and vegetables; the host likes carrots, Nico likes carrots too but prefers tomatoes, and kohlrabi is not his favorite. Preference language—mögen, gerne essen, lieber, am liebsten, nicht so lecker—turns a simple meal offer into the episode’s grammar core for everyday tastes at the table.

Tips for shadowing this episode
Build a three-step ladder about your own food: gerne → lieber → am liebsten, then say one nicht so lecker item. Order a fictional Schorle aloud with bitte at the end. Shadow only the preference lines once, ignoring the holiday goodbye, to keep the grammar focus clean.
