Episode summary
At the restaurant, someone asks Max to come a bit earlier tomorrow. Tomorrow is the twenty-second and there is an appointment at half past twelve. Max agrees and jokes about the day after tomorrow; they confirm that übermorgen is the twenty-third and that only tomorrow has a midday appointment. Max also reminds everyone about early shifts from the first to the seventh of November, already noted in the calendar. Later Tarek answers the phone as Das Marek: weekends still open from nine in the morning until eleven at night. A guest wants a table at a quarter to seven, but the first free window table is at a quarter to eight. Tarek thanks Nico for helping with the call. Dates, ordinal numbers, and reservation times drive the language from start to end.

Grammar & usage focus
Ordinal dates: der Zweiundzwanzigste, vom … bis zum …
German dates often use ordinal numbers as nouns: der Zweiundzwanzigste (the 22nd), der Dreiundzwanzigste (the 23rd). For a range you hear vom ersten bis zum siebten November — vom + dative ordinal through bis zum + dative ordinal. Pair these with morgen and übermorgen when plans sit on nearby days. Saying the ordinal aloud with the month beats only memorizing digits.
Examples
- Morgen ist der Zweiundzwanzigste, übermorgen der Dreiundzwanzigste.
- Vom ersten bis zum siebten November habe ich Frühdienst.

Tips for shadowing this episode
Drill morgen vs übermorgen with today’s real date so the jump feels automatic. Practice one full phone line: open/close times, then offer the next free table. Write the November early-shift range once by hand — ordinal endings stick better when you write them.
