Episode summary
A young man named Wolfgang introduces himself as Wolf when he meets a group of women looking over a living room. He quickly judges the furniture: the table is not nice, the chairs are old, and the wardrobe is much too big. Instead of accepting the layout, he starts planning a new one out loud. The sofa should go against the wall, and his drum kit belongs in the corner so they can jam together. He also wants plenty of carpets, lamps, and pillows for chilling. The women listen politely but do not commit; they say they will get back to him. The short scene is packed with furniture nouns and opinions about how a room should feel. Watch how Wolf stacks object after object while the others stay reserved — a useful contrast when you practice describing your own space without agreeing to every idea.

Grammar & usage focus
Definite articles with furniture (der / die / das)
German nouns for furniture each take a gender. You need der for masculine words (der Tisch, der Stuhl, der Schrank), die for feminine ones (die Ecke, die Lampe), and das for neuter ones (das Sofa, das Wohnzimmer, das Kissen). In this episode Wolf names objects with the article almost every time, which is exactly how you should learn them. When you describe a room, keep article + noun together so gender sticks.
Examples
- Der Schrank ist zu groß, aber das Sofa ist perfekt.
- Die Lampe kommt in die Ecke neben den Tisch.

Tips for shadowing this episode
Pause after each furniture noun and repeat it with the article out loud: der Tisch, die Stühle, der Schrank. Then invent your own living-room plan in three sentences using stellen and kommen. Shadow Wolf’s “zum Chillen” list once for rhythm — carpets, lamps, pillows — so the shopping vocabulary sticks as a chunk.
